Wag & Company is a registered charity enabling visiting dog teams to build meaningful relationships with older dog lovers across the North East of England who miss company and the friendship of a dog.  Our professionally assessed volunteers and their dogs visit people in their own homes as well as in care and medical establishments. With over 50,000 lonely pensioners in our region, around half of those over 75 live alone and 1 in 9 have contact with friends or family less than once a month and many older people aren’t contacted by anyone – the need is huge.
